The route follows a local trail that takes you down into the valley north of Ghorepani, before climbing up another ridge, known as “Khopra Ridge”. Without a doubt, one of the best short treks in Nepal.
The Khopra Danda trek (also known as the Khopra Ridge trek) is a great alternative to the more popular (and more crowded) Ghorepani trek, taking you higher still to another great viewpoint of the Annapurna’s Dhaulagiri.
If you’re looking for the perfect week-long trek, a little off-the-beaten path and with great views, this trek is a great choice. It combines the best of what Nepal has to offer: amazing mountain views, pastoral villages, and rice fields layered on top of each other, descending down into the valley. The best part is that so few people know about it.
Wake early morning for an amazing sunrise over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna
Take an extra day to hike to Khayer Lake, a sacred lake at the foot of Annapurna South
Stay at a teahouse with one of Nepal’s best panoramic views
Descend through pastoral villages on your way down to Tatopani

Accommodations We will be staying at Ti-se guest house in Kathmandu, Mountain house in Pokhara and teahouses during the trek. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Although single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and the trekking regions at lower elevation, it might be difficult to find them at higher elevations.
Meals during Trek, we can enjoy authentic Nepalese food as well the more common international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, Indian, etc.). Breakfast and dinner will be served from the tea-houses or from a lodge menu where we spend the night whereas lunch will be served on the way to the next destination. All meals will be Provided during trekking while only breakfast will be available while in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Autumn (Sept. to Dec.) and spring (March to May) are the best seasons for the Khopra Dada Trek. The weather is sunny and warm with outstanding views including Dhaulagiri 8,167 meters , Annapurna south 7219 meters and many other below 8000 meters mountains. If you wish to avoid crowds and enjoy some alone time with nature then taking this trip during winter (Dec., Jan. and Feb.) could also be an option. However, the temperature during winter could be harsh for most guests. Trekking in the summer or Monsoon seasons (June to Aug.) will be affected by rain but the summer trek could be a boon for a keen botanist.
