I have recently returned from a trek to Pikey Peak with Wangda Sherpa as our guide. It was my second visit to Nepal. The previous time was to the Annapurna region with Wangda’s father Lakpa as our guide. This time we were looking for a trek in a less commercialised region, with a chance to discover more about Sherpa culture and traditions,
which is exactly what we got. Staying in Sherpa houses and finding out about their way of life, gave us a unique insight into the lives of these proud and resourceful people. Wangda was a superb guide. The trek to Pikey Peak took us through some beautiful mountain countryside with amazing views including the whole of the Everest range. Wangda ensured our comfort and safety at all times, whilst he was only too happy to answer all our questions about the country and people. Thanks to him the whole trip was a wonderful and memorable experience from start to finish.
