As so Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism with all the other involved associations regarding tourism have said up some standard rules and procedures in order to reopen Nepal as a trekking and cultural paradise for all. In this small article Trekker Nepal will explain you what these new Covid-19 rules and safety measures.
The terms and conditions to be followed by foreign tourists for trekking and expeditions in Nepal:
It can be a bit unclear for some, so Trekker Nepal will give you a more detailed explanation on how you can book your trip to Nepal without any hassle.
First of is the matter of your tourist visa, before most passport holders could get a tourist visa upon arrival at the international airport of Kathmandu, Nepal. Now due to the Covid-19 pandemic that section is closed and travelers need to either consult with their Nepalese embassies or apply for a tourist visa via your trekking or travel partner from Nepal such as Trekker Nepal.
Second comes the required documents. If in case you are not yet vaccinated, a negative RT PCR test report of at least 72 hours before your departure to Nepal needs to be presented so that means the day before you depart to Nepal. Also a hotel booking of at least 7 days in one hotel in Kathmandu is required for self-quarantine. Of course Trekker Nepal will do anything possible to make your stay during self-quarantine more pleasant. Another document required is an insurance cover for Covid-19, which you can get via your medical insurer or your travel insurer.
If you are in the 7 days self-quarantine another RT PCR test will be conducted and upon negative you can directly start by exploring Kathmandu and start your holiday officially.
This means that the only stop on your holiday in Nepal might be a 7 days self-quarantine at your hotel, which is not so bad to relax a small week in a hotel with service! But if you are vaccinated you can just enjoy your holiday program without the 7 days quarantine.
The other rules are pretty basic. You need to be insured for Covid-19 which you can get from a reliable travel insurance seller and you’re good to go on your trip to Nepal with Trekker Nepal.
